Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior is keen on a move to Inter Milan this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that now Inter are ready to play the waiting game in negotiations with Arsenal.

Circumstances have very much converged to make Kiwior a target for Inter.

For one thing, the Nerazzurri are doing everything they can to sign a left-sided defender.

This follows an injury to wingback Tajon Buchanan.

With Buchanan on the sidelines for the first few months of next season, Carlos Augusto will have to play primarily or exclusively at wingback.

And with the versatile Brazilian tied up on the flank, there will be a bit of a void in defense.

Therefore, Inter will sign a player who can cover on the left side of the back three.

Meanwhile, Kiwior’s situation at Arsenal is such that the Polish international wants to leave.

The arrival of Ricardo Calafiori from Bologna will mean that there is more competition than ever for playing time in defense, where Kiwior was not always a starter to begin with next season.

Therefore, the former Spezia defender wants out. He is keen to join a team where he can play more frequently.

Arsenal Defender Jakub Kiwior Wants Inter – Nerazzurri Ready To Be Patient

And according to the Gazzetta, Kiwior is ready to accept a move to Inter.

The 24-year-old believes that the Nerazzurri would be the right project for him.

Inter, for their part, see Kiwior as a fairly ideal target. The Pole is familiar with Serie A, is well-suited to playing on the left of a back three, and could even play in the centre of defense.

Moreover, at 24, Kiwior fulfills the remit of Inter owners Oaktree Capital to sign a younger player with room to grow.

The big obstacle for Inter, however, remains convincing Arsenal on a deal.

The Gunners paid 25 million for Kiwior eighteen months ago. And they don’t value him at much less than that now.

That would theoretically put Kiwior out of Inter’s price range.

However, the Nerazzurri are hoping to sign Kiwior on an additional loan deal. They would like to have a purchase option that is not mandatory.

Arsenal are not currently open to such an idea.

However, Inter are ready to play the waiting game. They know that Kiwior wants to leave Arsenal, and that the London club will be working to offload the Polish international.

Therefore, as the summer transfer window goes on, Inter anticipate that Arsenal may become more amenable to their offers.
