Inter Milan midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is happy to be at Sampdoria on loan, and particularly to have Andrea Pirlo as a coach.

The 19-year-old gave his thoughts on Sampdoria’s official social media account, via FCInterNews, after completing the loan deal for the upcoming season.

Next season, Akinsanmiro will be playing for Sampdoria in Serie B.

This will be the Nigerian’s first regular experience in senior football.

Last season, Akinsanmiro did make one appearance for the Inter first team in Serie A. He came off the bench in a 4-0 win away to Lecce.

However, the teenage midfielder spent the majority of the campaign playing for the Nerazzurri’s Primavera or Under-19 team.

Now, though, it is time for Akinsanmiro to start gaining experience in the senior game.

The 19-year-old remains a player who Inter have high expectations for. They beat the likes of Real Madrid and Benfica when they signed him in 2023.

Ebenezer Akinsanmiro: “Already Love Being At Sampdoria, Pirlo A Legend”

Upon completing his move, Akinsanmiro said that “I’m very happy.”

“I already love this team. These fans, the players.”

“The fans have already shown me a lot of love, they’ve given me joy and friendship,” he said. “I’m happy to be here.”

As far as the reason for his decision for next season, Akinsanmiro said that “First of all I chose Sampdoria because it’s a great club.”

“And a great opportunity for me.”

“And then I also made my choice because of Pirlo,” the teenage midfielder added. “He’s a legend, and played in my position.”

Akinsanmiro anticipated that “Working with him will really help me improve my game.”

“That’s the reason I’m happy to be here.”

Meanwhile, Akinsanmiro gave his thoughts on his style of play and inspirations. In a word, he summed up his style as “Creative.”

“I’ve enjoyed watching a lot of players. I loved Obi Mikel during his time at Chelsea.”

Akinsanmiro explained that “I was born in Lagos, and I started playing for Remo Stars who have an academy in Nigeria called ‘Beyond Limits.'”

“I started out by playing for their academy in the second division. Then, I was promoted to the first team.”

“After that I came to Italy to play at the Viareggio tournament,” Akinsanmiro noted.

“That’s where Inter spotted me and decided to sign me.”
