The “evergreen” Henrikh Mkhitaryan has earned rave reviews from Inter Milan’s coaching staff yet again in preseason.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Mkhitaryan is 35 years of age.

However, if there is one thing that is abundantly clear, it is that the Armenian’s age is not slowing him down much – if at all.

Last season, Mkhitaryan was behind only Nicolo Barella in terms of Inter outfield players for minutes played in Serie A. That is a testament to how integral he was for the Nerazzurri.

And Mkhitaryan is certainly hoping to have just as important a role next season.

The arrival of Piotr Zielinski will certainly entail more competition for starting spots. As will the fact that Davide Frattesi has now had a year to settle in.

But by the same token, Inter will have a busier fixture list than ever next season.

Therefore Mkhitaryan is well aware that he will continue to be needed.

“Evergreen” Mkhitaryan Earns Raves From Inter Coaching Staff In Preseason

As an early sign of how keen he is to keep his condition up for next season, Mkhitaryan was the first arrival at Inter’s preseason training camp.

Tuttosport report that the 35-year-old came in half an hour early.

And moreover, it has not just been at the training camp.

Tuttosport report that the former Arsenal and Roma veteran showed up already in good physical shape. He had hardly lost his edge over the holidays.

Mkhitaryan appears to be keenly aware of the need to not relax or slow down at his age.

And it has been evident in preseason.

The Armenian has started in both of Inter’s preseason matches, against Lugano and Pergolettese.

And the early signs are the same as ever. Mkhitaryan should be ready to play as big of a role as ever for Inter next season.
