Fabio Capello feels that AC Milan and Juventus are “still incomplete” despite their summer improvements, and still behind Inter Milan.

The former Rossoneri, Real Madrid, and England coach gave his thoughts to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, via FCInterNews.

Last season, Milan finished second in the Serie A table behind their city rivals Inter.

However, in truth there was never really a title race.

There had been a close race up until the end of January. But that had been between Inter and Juventus.

When the Bianconeri’s form plummeted dramatically, Milan were able to move ahead of them in the table.

But by that time, Inter had already pulled well ahead of all the other teams in the table.

At the end of the season, the Nerazzurri’s lead in the table stretched to nearly twenty points.

And to add insult to injury, Inter also clinched the title in the derby against Milan. That was the first time that either the Nerazzurri or the Rossoneri had ever done so.

Capello: “AC Milan & Juventus Incomplete, Inter Ahead”

Milan have taken steps to strengthen during the summer transfer window.

For one thing, the Rossoneri have hired a new coach, in the form of Paulo Fonseca.

The former Roma, Lille, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Porto boss replaces Stefano Pioli at the helm.

Meanwhile, Juventus have appointed Thiago Motta following his eye-catching work guiding Bologna to a Champions League place last season.

Both the Rossoneri and the Bianconeri have strengthened in the summer transfer window as well.

Former coach Capello has been in charge of both Milan and Juventus.

He argued that “If Milan sign Pavlovic and Fofana they will be two great signings, in addition to Morata.”

“But along with the new signings, Fonseca will also have to find the tactical balance that was missing last season.”

“Even with the French and Serbian internationals, Milan’s transfer window is not complete,” said Capello.

“They’re on the right track. But the gap with Inter is still there – even if it’s smaller.”

“The Nerazzurri are already at full-strength,” the former coach argued. “And have even further strengthened compared to last season.”

Capello commented that “The Rossoneri are growing. But they still have a long way to go.”

“The same goes for Juventus. They’ve done well this summer, but are still incomplete.”
