Inter Milan aren’t willing to consider the notion of parting ways with Davide Frattesi this summer. Nevertheless, the player must take his game up a notch.

The Nerazzurri signed the 24-year-old from Sassuolo last summer on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

The Italy international is now an Inter player on a permanent basis. However, some recent reports claimed that the midfielder could be on his way out of Appiano Gentile. They even suggested an astonishing swap deal with Juventus involving Federico Chiesa.

But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Italian champions have closed the door on all transfer speculations regarding Frattesi.

Even though Simone Inzaghi is spoiled for options in the midfield, the club is adamant about keeping the Italian.

However, the Roma native wasn’t quite happy with his role last season. Despite scoring eight goals, he mostly came off the bench while playing second fiddle to Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Therefore, Frattesi will be looking to prove he has what it takes to carve himself a starting role on more occasions.

Inter Milan Eager To Maintain Davide Frattesi

The former Sassuolo man will also be gunning for a rebound on the international level.

Although Luciano Spalletti relied on him as a starter on most occasions, his EURO 2024 displays were disappointing. This is similar to the vast majority of his international teammates, as the Azzurri’s title defense ended in the Round of 16.

As the source notes, Frattesi will turn 25 in September, so he’s no longer a mere youngster.

Hence, this is the right time for him to make an important leap in quality and become a key pillar for the Nerazzurri.

Frattesi’s contract with the Italian champions is valid until June 2028.
