Former Inter Milan defender Fabio Galante believes Nerazzurri President Beppe Marotta is one of the greatest football directors of all time.

Speaking exclusively to SempreInter.com, the Inter Milan 97/98 UEFA Cup Winner stated that the former Juventus director is one of the greatest of all time in that role.

Fabio Galante expressed his joy over the appointment of Beppe Marotta as President of Inter Milan, adding that it was fully deserved.

“We’re talking about a great professional, a great connoisseur of football, a person with expert knowledge.

“When you speak about Marotta you are talking about one of the most important directors in football that has ever existed.

“So there’s nothing surprising about him becoming president of Inter. This appointment can also be seen as an award in quotation marks, awarded to a person with great depth to hold a great role.

“It signifies that his work has been acknowledged. I am very happy he is the President of Inter and it is something that he absolutely deserves.”

Fabio Galante: “Alessandro Buongiorno More Ready For A Big Club Than Riccardo Calafiori”

The former Torino defender also shared his thoughts on who he would sign for Inter Milan out of Napoli new signing Alessandro Buongiorno and Arsenal bound Riccardo Calafiori.

“They are both two excellent defenders. Calafiori has had a fantastic year. Buongiorno has demonstrated for a few years now that he plays at a great level.

“They are two excellent choices for any team that gets them. However, as such they are also very expensive to sign for any Italian club.

“In my opinion, it wouldn’t have hurt Calafiori to stay another year at Bologna. Buongiorno has much more experience.

“In my opinion he is today more ready for a big club move. This given his more than 100 appearances with Torino.

“If I could choose to sign one of them for Inter, I would choose Buongiorno for this reason.”

Fabio Galante: “Steven Zhang & Suning Brought Inter Milan Back To The Highest Level”

Fabio Galante also praised former Inter Milan owners Suning and in particular Steven Zhang who appointed Beppe Marotta as CEO for Sport.

“I want to say a few words about Steven Zhang. All us Inter fans love him. He brought Inter Milan back to the highest level. I want to salute him on behalf of Inter Legends.

Subsequently, Fabio Galante proceeded to praise new owners Oaktree for their decision to appoint Beppe Marotta as Inter Milan President.

“Oaktree have already demonstrated that they intend to stay on the path of continuity by appointing Beppe Marotta as Inter Milan president.

“The same can be said about all the contract extensions. Inter are today a very strong team. And can be considered favorites for the Serie A title.”

Fabio Galante: “Lautaro & Barella Contract Extensions Important Signal That Inter Want To Improve & Win”

Fabio Galante then proceeded to praise Inter Milan for extending the contract of Lautaro Martinez and Nicolo Barella.

The former Torino defender believes these extensions demonstrate that Inter still want to improve and keep winning.

“Lautaro Martinez and Nicolo Barella’s contract extensions are an important signal. These extensions mean that Inter want to become stronger and win.

“It is also a beautiful sign for the fans allowing the fans to keep dreaming big.

“The new signings will also surely improve an already very strong squad” Galante added.

Fabio Galante: “Marcus Thuram Is A Wonderful Lad & Everybody Loves Him”

Galante continued by showering praise on French international striker Marcus Thuram.

In particular, Galante praised Thuram’s approach to the game and how he has made the most of his move to Inter.

“Inter signed Thuram to be the third striker, not to start. However, he has made the most of the situation demonstrating his worth.

“I am happy for him because he is a wonderful lad, everybody loves him. He still has areas he can improve, but already now his approach to the game is 10/10. He deserved praise for that.

“Also, compliments to him for contributing to so many goals Inter scored last season.”

Fabio Galante: “Inter Milan Winning Second Star In Derby Against AC Milan Will Forever Remain In History”

Galante then turned to the historic manner Inter Milan won their 20th Serie A title, after a 2-1 win over city rivals AC Milan.

“It is something that will remain forever. It was a historic game that has gone down in history. Everyone remembers how Inter won their second star.

“However, I don’t think it will have any impact on the upcoming season. AC Milan have changed coach, Inter have changed a couple of players.

“The Rossoneri will certainly try to break the negative trend which sees them having lost six derbies in a row.

However, Inter failed to reach past the round of last 16 in the Champions League despite winning the Serie A and the Supercoppa Italiana.

The Nerazzurri lost to Atletico Madrid after penalty shootouts at the Wanda Metropolitana in Madrid.

Galante underlined the fine margins that separate the winners from the losers in the Champions League.

“In order to win it things have to really go your way. I think of Onana’s save against Porto the season before and the clash with Atletico this last season.

“One more goal would have been enough. In football the ifs and buts don’t matter. In order to win the Champions League everything has to go well for you.

“Just look at this year’s final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.”

Fabio Galante: “Inter Milan Players Have Improved Incredibly Under Simone Inzaghi”

Galante then proceeded to praise Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi for delivering important results but also for players improving under him.

“In football it’s the results that matter. These results have given him a hand when reaching the Champions League final to then win the Serie A.

“I mention these without forgetting the many other trophies he has won. The credit also has to go to his staff, without forgetting the work of the Nerazzurri directors.

“Inter Milan players have shown incredible improvement under him. This adds value to the work Simone Inzaghi has done. Compliments to him.

Galante was then asked to compare Simone Inzaghi’s Inter with other legendary Inter Milan sides coached by Giovanni Trapattoni, Roberto Mancini, Luigi Simoni, and Antonio Conte.

“You’ve nominated five squads. Just like Luciano Spalletti you’ve picked five number 10’s. All of these Inter squads are 10/10 teams.

“Therefore, it is hard to say which one is the best out of the bunch. Each and every one of these teams have their own characteristics, their symbolic players, have won something and have entered the hearts of all Inter fans.

“They are all and will always be remembered. They are all 10/10 teams.”

Fabio Galante: “Carlo Ancelotti Is In A League Of His Own But Simone Inzaghi Is Young & Has Time To Reach His Levels”

In conclusion, Fabio Galante was asked to compare how well Simone Inzaghi stands with the other Italian super coaches of today, namely Antonio Conte and Carlo Ancelotti.

“We are talking about coaches who are occupying the benches of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. All three of them have won important trophies and continue to do so.

“However, today Carlo Ancelotti is in a league of his own. But Simone Inzaghi is young, and he has time to add other league and cup trophies to his CV.

“When you coach Inter Milan it means that you are among the top coaches in Italy and Europe.”
