Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is looking forward to coming up against Inter Milan in preseason this summer.

The Englishman spoke to Chelsea’s official social media account, via FCInterNews. He expressed the hope that the match will be a spectacle in a packed stadium.

Next month, Chelsea and Inter will face off in a preseason friendly match.

For both teams it will be the final match of the summer preseason. They each kick off their respective league campaigns the following weekend.

The match, on Sunday, August 11th will take place at Stamford Bridge.

Whilst both Inter and Chelsea are playing a number of other friendlies in order to warm up for the upcoming season, they will undoubtedly be one another’s most high-profile friendly opponents.

Both Inter and Chelsea are European heavyweights. Both of the two clubs have played in Champions League finals in the last few years.

Chelsea New Boy Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall Hopes For “Spectacle” Vs Inter Milan

For Inter, the preseason this summer looks to be about finding the same chemistry as last campaign.

Last season was a successful one for the Nerazzurri. Therefore, they are not changing too much about the team, retaining the same core of players and the same coach.

On the other hand, Chelsea have made quite a few changes this summer.

The most high-profile change that the Blues have made comes on the bench. Enzo Maresca replaces Mauricio Pochettino as head coach.

Maresca joins from Leiecester City. He took midfielder Dewsbury-Hall with him, among the other signings that Chelsea have made this summer.

Dewsbury-Hall will come up against Inter before he even plays in his first competitive match for Chelsea.

The 25-year-old commented, “I hope that for the match against Inter there’s a full stadium.”

“And that we can put on a spectacle for the fans. Because the Premier League starts a week later.”

“The match against Inter will be the final test for us to show the fans where we’re at and what we can do in the new season,” Dewsbury-Hall remarked.

The new Chelsea midfielder added that “It’s great coming up against teams like Inter in preseason.”

“They’re Italian champions,” he said. “It’s a good test for us to see where we’re at.”

“I prefer to play against the best teams to test myself and see what I’m capable of.”
