Italian football agent Andrea D’Amico feels that Inter Milan have “won despite criticism” in the transfer market.

D’Amico praised the Nerazzurri while speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

This summer, Inter have made a few key targeted signings.

The Nerazzurri have brought in the likes of Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski on a free transfers. They’ve also signed Josep Martinez, who they hope to make their new long-term goalkeeper.

Reports suggest that Inter well make another signing or two. They are after a defender who can bolster the left side of their defense, and potentially another striker as well.

Last summer, by contrast, Inter were much more active.

The Nerazzurri made a total of twelve signings ahead of last season. These were to replace the same number of players who headed for the exit door.

Last summer’s transfer window seemed to see Inter find exactly the right balance.

The Nerazzurri won the Serie A title last season, and in dominant fashion.

This time around, by contrast, the task is not to build a team that can fight for trophies. It is to keep one together.

The hope is that with a few signings like Taremi and Zielinski Inter can improve the depth from last season just enough that they can take the next step.

D’Amico Praises Inter Milan Work In Transfer Market

Italian agent D’Amico gave his assessment of Inter’s work in the transfer market.

“They’re in a situation where they have to be intelligent and exploit opportunities,” he said.

“They’ve had to make a virtue of necessity.”

D’Amico noted that “Buying low and then selling high has made for capital gains. That has been oxygen for the club at a financial level.”

“Then, when you win, that means you’ve done good work,” the agent said.

“Inter have won. Therefore, they have an excellent team regardless of the criticism they’ve received.”
