Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck is not lacking confidence in himself ahead of his second season as a Nerazzurri player.

The German spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, after the team’s 3-0 friendly win over Las Palmas yesterday.

Last summer, Bisseck joined Inter from Danish side Aarhus.

It was a massive step up for the 23-year-old.

Bisseck had stood out with his performances for Aarhus. He had also become the captain of the Germany Under-21 national team, wearing the armband at last summer’s Euros.

However, joining Inter meant an altogether different level for Bisseck.

The expectations were not necessarily that high for the German in his first season with the Nerazzurri, therefore. He was always likely to need some time to settle in.

And it was indeed the case that over the first few months of last campaign Bisseck barely featured.

The 23-year-old used the opportunity to work in training and fit into the system of Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.

Inter Milan Defender Yann Bisseck Full Of Confidence In Preseason

In the autumn, though, Inzaghi decided he was ready to hand Bisseck the keys.

And the coach’s faith in the German was not misplaced.

Bisseck became a regular in the Inter team over the second half of last season. Both in the starting eleven and off the bench.

The 23-year-old’s performances were not those of a player lacking experience or familiarity with the level of his surroundings.

Bisseck more than played his role in Inter winning the Serie A title last season.

Therefore, the expectations will be much higher for Bisseck next season. The German has already shown what he can do.

Bisseck has been part of Inter’s preseason training camp since the beginning. He started against Las Palmas yesterday.

“This evening we played a great match,” the German said after the friendly win.

“We played well. I’ve always had a lot of confidence in myself, I want to give everything.”

“Preseason is going very well,” Bisseck declared. “We’re ready for the new season.”

Bisseck added that “We have extraordinary fans. I’m very happy to have their support.”
