Inter Milan are keen on the possibility of signing Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Luka Sucic on a free transfer next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

This summer, Inter’s transfer business is already a big part of the way towards being done.

Barring any major late surprises, the Nerazzurri will likely sign a defender and then maybe one or two other players on low-cost deals in the next few weeks.

However, that does not mean that Inter are not plotting for the future.

In midfield, Tuttosport report, Inter are sensing the opportunity for a major free transfer coup.

Inter Milan Eye Up Salzburg Midfielder Luka Sucic On Free Transfer Deal In 2025

Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Sucic is currently under contract with the Austrian club until the end of next summer.

That means that the 21-year-old could be available on a free transfer in twelve months’ time.

Everything would of course depend on the outcome of contract talks between Sucic and Salzburg.

If Sucic is to be available, there will be no shortage of interest in the Croatian international’s signature.

The Croatian international has enjoyed a very positive trajectory over the last few seasons at Salzburg.

This has earned the 21-year-old a pathway into the Croatian national team. Despite his young age he has already made ten appearances for the senior side.

And Sucic’s breakout seasons at Salzburg have put him on the radar of numerous top sides in Europe. Not least considering his prospective availability on a free transfer.

Therefore, the competition to sign Sucic will be tough.

But Inter have faith that they can pull off a deal. The Nerazzurri have gained a reputation for exploiting free transfer opportunities in the market.

Sucic would be the perfect example of the kind of player Inter owners Oaktree Capital want to sign. He is young, with major prospects for growth as well as resale value.

The Croat is a player Inter are identifying as a possible long-term heir to Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the left side of their midfield trio.

Mkhitaryan remains a key player in midfield. But he will turn 36 next season, so he’ll have to be phased out sooner or later.

Sucic is a midfielder with a versatile profile. He has proven capable of excelling in both central and attacking midfield roles.
