Simone Inzaghi says that there is “huge enthusiasm” among the Inter Milan squad in preseason this summer.

The coach spoke after yesterday’s friendly win over Las Palmas, via FCInterNews. He hailed the squad harmony that he’s seen since training began.

Inter’s preparations for next season are now well underway.

It has been more than two weeks since the Nerazzurri’s preseason training camp kicked off.

And there have now been three friendly matches in which the Inter squad has had the opportunity to gel and find their rhythm and match fitness.

Inter dispatched the likes of Lugano and Pergolettese in their first two friendlies of the preseason period. And yesterday, they beat La Liga side Las Palmas 3-0.

More important than the result or scoreline was the fact that Inter’s squad looked to be re-finding their chemistry from last season.

There are still quite a few key players missing, due to extended post-EURO 2024 and Copa America vacations. And there are new faces like Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski.

But the team is starting to take shape.

Simone Inzaghi: “Huge Enthusiasm” In Inter Milan Preseason

Last season Inter won the Serie A title in dominant fashion.

There is naturally no shortage of hunger to follow that accomplishment up.

The key question determining whether or not Inter are successful in doing so could be whether the team are able to avoid complacency after the kind of campaign that they had last time out.

And Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi said that “All the guys have showed up to training with huge enthusiasm.”

“Both the players who’ve been at the training camp from day one, and those who’ve arrived later.”

“I’ve noticed that they’re all happy to be back together,” Inzaghi said of the squad.

The Inter coach commented, “I like to see them training with a smile.”

“Not that that means working less. But working better.”

Inzaghi hailed Inter’s “Great pace and intensity from everyone” in training.
