Inter Milan are ready to use transfer fees for midfielder Lucien Agoume and striker Martin Satriano to move for a defender.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are close to making two significant sales of fringe players from their squad.

Midfielder Agoume is one step away from joining Sevilla on a permanent basis.

The Andalusian club had the Frenchman on loan over the second half of last season. He had previously been out on loan at Spezia, Brest, and Troyes.

And now Sevilla will be signing Agoume for a fee reportedly in the region of 3-5 million. Additionally, Inter are set to receive a percentage of future resale on the French midfielder.

Meanwhile, Inter have reportedly agreed a deal with Ligue 1 club Brest to sell striker Satriano. The Uruguayan spent last season on loan with the French side, helping them to a surprise Champions Leaguye qualification.

Satriano has reportedly not yet given the green light on the move.

But should the 23-year-old agree to the deal, Inter will collect a fee of around 6 million for the deal, per their agreement with Brest.

Inter Cash In On Agoume & Satriano To Sign A Defender

Inter will therefore be bringing in a nest egg in the region of 10 million for the sales of two younger players who are not part of their first team plans.

These types of sales were always an important part of the Nerazzurri’s plans for this summer.

Inter must fund signings with sales, even if they don’t need to make massive money sales.

And there is one outstanding priority for the Nerazzurri remaining this summer.

Inter are still searching for a defender. They want a left-sided defender, so that Carlos Augusto can play exclusively at wingback while Tajon Buchanan is on the sidelines.

Inter had looked on the verge of a deal for Juan Cabal.

However, Juventus hijacked that deal. Therefore, Inter are back to square one.

There are a number of targets reportedly on the Nerazzurri’s radar. These include Zenit St. Petersburg’s Robert Renan, Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, and Genoa’s Johan Vazquez.

19-year-old Nantes defender Nathan Zeze is another name that has come up.

But one thing that is clear is that Inter will have greater financial means to pursue a deal for a defender once they complete the sales of Agoume and Satriano.
