Trabzonspor have sounded out a move to sign Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic this summer.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews.

35-year-old former West Ham United and Stoke City striker Arnautovic is back in training for Inter.

Arnautovic’s post-EURO 2024 vacation ended yesterday. However, he did not make an immediate return to training. This was due to some flu-like symptoms.

But Arnautovic should be back in training soon enough.

And once the Austrian is back with the squad, he may confront the new reality that awaits him.

Last season, Arnautovic had been a backup option in attack at Inter.

The Austrian more or less did what was expected of him in that regard. He carried the load when Lautaro Martinez or Marcus Thuram were injured or needed a rest.

Next season, though, Inter will have Mehdi Taremi in the squad.

Taremi is a striker who has a similar profile to Arnautovic. But perhaps unlike the Austrian, the Iranian international will be pushing to start more regularly.

If Inter are to have all of Taremi, Martinez, and Thuram regularly rotating in and out of the starting eleven, they will have less of a need for an experienced backup like Arnautovic.

Therefore, the former West Ham United striker will have a decision to make this summer.

Trabzonspor Inquire About Inter Striker Marko Arnautovic

Inter would certainly be willing to listen to offers for Arnautovic.

The Austrian may have only arrived twelve months ago. However, he has already done the job that the Nerazzurri brought him in to do as a backup option last season.

Inter may not be pushing Arnautovic out the door.

But for the right offer, the 35-year-old could certainly leave after one season.

And according to Mediaset, the latest offer for Arnautovic’s signature has come in from Turkey.

Trabzonspor have made an inquiry about the possibility of signing the Austrian international.
