Yann Sommer and Hakan Calhanoglu will make their return to training for Inter Milan tomorrow after post-EURO 2024 vacations.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter’s squad has now been in their preseason training camp for over two weeks.

The Nerazzurri kicked off their preparations for next campaign earlier this month.

However, that does not mean that the entire squad has been at the disposal of coach Simone Inzaghi right away. Rather, the team has been coming together piecemeal.

Various squad members have been filtering in after extended vacations at the end of international duty at the Euros or the Copa America.

Last week, Inter’s five Italian internationals were back in training.

And tomorrow, there will be two more familiar faces.

Yann Sommer & Hakan Calhanoglu Headed Back To Inter Training Tomorrow

Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer was part of the Switzerland’s squad at EURO 2024 this summer.

The 35-year-old held down the starting spot despite the presence of in-form Borussia Dortmund kepeer Gregor Kobel.

Sommer and Switzerland reached the quarterfinals of the Euros, notably eliminating an Italy team containing five of the Nerazzurri keeper’s club teammates along the way.

However, Switzerland’s tournament ended at the quarterfinal stage. They went out on penalties against England.

Sommer has been on holidays after the Euros, but will be back in training for Inter.

Last season the Swiss was the first-choice keeper for Inter, following a move from Bayern Munich. And he will aim to keep his spot, despite the signing of Josep Martinez.

Meanwhile, midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu also reached the quarterfinals of the Euros.

The 30-year-old former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder captained Turkey at the tournament. They eliminated Austria in the round of sixteen but then lost to the Netherlands.

Calhanoglu is a key player for Inter. The Turk was named as the best midfielder in Serie A last season.

This summer, Calhanoglu reportedly rejected interest from Bayern Munich. He’ll be staying at Inter.

And tomorrow Calhanoglu begins preparing for next season with the Nerazzurri.
