Nantes Could Ask For One Of Two Inter Milan Players As Part Of Deal For Teenage Defender

Nantes could ask Inter Milan for goalkeepers Filip Stankovic or Andrei Radu as part of a deal for defender Nathan Zeze.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Teenage defender Zeze is one of the names to have come onto Inter’s radar this summer.

The Nerazzurri are in search of a defender. The specific profile that they are seeking is a player capable of playing on the left of the back three.

This is indirectly the result of a serious injury to Tajon Buchanan.

The Canadian international suffered a broken leg while with his national team at the Copa America earlier this month.

Therefore, Buchanan will miss the first few months of next season.

In the Canadian’s absence, Carlos Augusto will have to play exclusively or primarily at wingback.

Given that the versatile Brazilian had played significant minutes on the left of the back three last season, Inter will need to sign a new defender capable of filling in for Alessandro Bastoni in that role.

Nantes Could Ask For Stankovic Or Radu In Nathan Zeze Deal

Inter had been seemingly close to signing defender Juan Cabal. from Hellas Verona. However, Juventus hijacked that deal for the Colombian.

Then there are other targets such as Zenit St. Petersburg’s Robert Renan, Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, and Genoa’s Johan Vazquez.

And then Nantes defender Nathan Zeze is another player who Inter are tracking as a possible defensive reinforcement.

The 19-year-old would certainly meet Oaktree’s criteria of a young player with room to improve.

Therefore, he is a serious target for the Nerazzurri.

However, the crucial question could be whether Inter can afford a deal for Zeze.

Nantes will reportedly want a fee of at least €20 million to sell the teenage defender. That would be a significant investment for Inter.

However, Inter could look to lower the cash fee with a player-plus-cash offer.

Nantes are still looking for a new goalkeeper. Therefore, there are two possible players they could realistically ask Inter for.
