Venezia midfielder Tanner Tessmann is getting close to a move to Fiorentina after talks with Inter Milan fell through.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the US international is set to join La Viola for a fee of around 6 million.

Inter were in talks to sign Tessmann from Venezia earlier this summer.

The Nerazzurri’s interest in signing the 22-year-old emerged last month. Reportedly this came up during talks between Inter and Venezia regarding the newly-promoted club’s interest in some Inter players.

Inter reportedly saw Tessmann as a possible signing for the longer term future.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri’s intention was reportedly to sign the American this summer, and then loan him back to Venezia for next season so that he could continue to play regularly.

The talks between Inter and Venezia had gone on for several weeks.

And the two clubs were reportedly very close to hammering out a deal for Tessmann.

However, reports indicated that the negotiations between Inter and the player stalled.

This was partly the result of disagreements on financial terms, including wages for Tessmann and commissions for the midfielder’s representatives.

And then there was also the matter of Tessmann’s demands as far as his preferred loan move.
