Legendary former Nerazzurri midfielder Evaristo Beccalossi feels that Inter Milan are still the favourites to win the Serie A title.
Speaking to reporters, via FCInterNews, Beccalossi argued that the other big teams in Serie A are still playing catch-up with the Nerazzurri.
Inter go into next season as defending Serie A champions.
Moreover, the Nerazzurri did not just win the title last time around. They did so in dominant fashion.
Inter finished last campaign nearly twenty points ahead of their closest rivals in the table, AC Milan.
And the Nerazzurri have managed to lock down the team that won last season’s title.
It is looking as though all of the regular starters who formed the spine of last season’s team are sticking around. So is coach Simone Inzaghi.
And if anything Inter have strengthened during the summer transfer window.
The likes of Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski have been the big name arrivals at the Nerazzurri. And if their preseason performances have been anything to go by they will certainly give the team greater strength in depth.

Inter’s rivals at the top have also spent this summer strengthening, however.
All of Milan, Juventus, and Napoli have appointed new coaches. They have also reinforced their own squads with new signings.
Therefore, it certainly will not be easy for Inter to keep the other top sides in Serie A at bay.
“Inter have been the outstanding team in recent seasons,” said former midfielder Beccalossi.
“The striking thing is that even the players who have arrived at Inter seem as though they’ve been there for twenty years,” he continued.
“That means there’s a solid structure, and a great atmosphere.”
Beccalossi said that “The team is ready to fight for every trophy on offer.”
“Inter remain the favourites,” he said of the Serie A title race. “The other teams will be chasing.”
