Genoa Global Sporting Director Johannes Spors sent a message to all clubs pursuing Albert Gudmundsson, and this naturally includes Inter Milan.

The Icelandic star was one of the best revelations of the previous Serie A campaign. He led the Grifone towards a comfortable mid-table finish thanks to his superb strikes, elegant plays and elusive dribbling skills.

The 27-year-old’s attributes attracted a host of suitors between Italian football and the rest of the continent.

Nevertheless, the second striker has been linked with Inter more than any other club.

However, the Nerazzurri are unable to launch an onslaught for Gudmundsson before trimming their attacking department.

The Italian champions will be hoping to secure the player’s services before the end of the transfer session.

But in the meantime, Spors warns Inter of the stern competition for the player’s services. Moreover, the Genoa official insists the club won’t sell the striker on the cheap.

“We are in the middle of the transfer market. So for the sake of Genoa and for what has been said about financial sustainability, it is important for us to keep the players to help them grow,” said the 41-year-old German during his appearance on Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews.

Genoa Unwilling To Offer Discounts For Inter Milan Transfer Target Albert Gudmundsson

“We sold Dragusin [to Tottenham] and Martinez [to Inter], which were great deals. We know the value of Gudmundsson and Frendrup, they are very different but very important to us.

“If someone were to knock on the door we would open it and talk about it. Both Gudmundsson and Frendrup have several suitors, we also know their values.”

Gudmundsson’s contract with the Ligurians is valid until June 2027, and his estimated price tag is circa 30 million euros.
