Inter Milan are reportedly adamant about poaching the signature of Valencia’s young defender Yarek Gasiorowski.

Over the last 24 hours or so, the 19-year-old has emerged as the latest left-footed centre-back pursued by the Italian champions.

The Nerazzurri have been searching the market for a new defender since Tajon Buchanan’s injury on international duty.

With the Canadian out of action for a considerable period, Carlos Augusto will return to his original role as a wingback. This leaves Alessandro Bastoni without a clear understudy at the back.

The management has already identified several possible targets. This includes former Torino captain Ricardo Rodriguez who’s now a free agent.

Yet, Inter owners Oaktree Capital prefer a younger profile, one whose value would increase over time.

So as Tuttosport (via FcInterNews) explains, Gasiorowski would be a suitable candidate for the role.

The Turin-based newspaper reveals that the 19-year-old has already bewitched Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio and his assistant Dario Baccin.

The club’s scouts have also given the youngster high grades.

So as the source tells it, the Italian champions are willing to invest in the Spain U19 international.

Inter Milan Keen To Sign Valencia Youngster Yarek Gasiorowski

The youngster shares the same agent with his compatriot Josep Martinez. The goalkeeper has recently completed a transfer from Genoa to Inter.

So while this could be an advantage for the Nerazzurri, the management still has to raise funds by offloading some of their current players.

Gasiorowski is a Valencia youth product who earned a promotion to the first team last season and made 14 appearances in La Liga.

The youngster’s contract with Los Che will expire in 2025, but there’s an option to extend it for another two years.

The defender has Polish heritage, but he decided to declare for his country of birth on the international level. Hence, he has been representing Spain’s various age groups from a tender age.
