Inter Milan goalkeeper Ionut Andrei Radu is reportedly in contact with Ligue 1 clubs over a possible summer transfer.

The 27-year-old is a youth product of the club who first joined the Nerazzurri in 2013 as a mere teenager.

However, the Romanian never truly managed to earn sufficient playing time with the club’s senior squad.

His last appearance for Inter dates back to the ill-fated away trip to Bologna in April 2022. His blunder led to Inter’s defeat at the Renato Dall’Ara, which gave AC Milan the advantage they needed to ultimately secure the Serie A title.

Afterwards, Radu had a loan stint at Auxerre before signing for Bournemouth last summer. However, the Romanian failed to carve himself a starting role with the Cherries due to the presence of a strong competitor in Neto.

Therefore, the goalkeeper returned to Appiano Gentile where he still has a contract valid for another year.

Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri have no intention of keeping Radu at home.

Simone Inzaghi already has his goalkeeping department figured out, with Josep Martinez serving as an understudy for Yann Sommer, while Raffaele Di Gennaro remains the club’s third-choice custodian.

Hence, Inter are trying to find the Bucharest native a new accommodation.

According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, Radu’s next destination could be a return to Ligue 1.

As the Turin-based newspaper explains, there have been some contacts between the former Genoa shot-stopper and French clubs.

So it remains to be seen if these talks will come to fruition. This would be Radu’s second stint in France following his six-month experience at Auxerre in 2023.
