Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae has been tipped to join Inter Milan this summer. However, the player insists he’s happy to play his football at the Allianz Arena.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a stellar solitary campaign in Italian football after joining Napoli from Fenerbahce in 2022.

He helped the Partenopei clinch their first Scudetto title in 33 years and received the Best Serie A Defender award for his exploits.

The South Korean’s heroics at the Stadio Maradona earned him a big-money move to Bavaria last summer.

The Bundesliga giants triggered the centre-back’s release clause to put an end to his Napoli stint.

But after a promising start to life in Germany, Kim eventually lost his starting berth during the season. Former Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel preferred the partnership of Matthijs de Ligt and Eric Dier in the second half of the campaign.

Therefore, some sources expected Kim to seek an exit, while Inter were reportedly keeping tabs on the situation.

Nevertheless, the defender has now come out to pour cold water on all exit talks. The South Korea international insists he wants to stay with the Bavarian giants.

“I have never thought about leaving the club,” said the former Napoli star on the eve of a friendly between Bayern and Tottenham which will take place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium (via FcInterNews).

“My focus now is on training and the new season,” he concluded.

After losing his starting berth during Tuchel’s time at the club, Kim will be looking to win over Bayern’s new coach Vincent Kompany.

His contract with the German club is valid until June 2028.

For their part, Inter now are looking to add a young left-footed defender to their ranks instead of pursuing a renowned profile.
