A report in the Italian media reveals when Inter Milan will be able to count on the services of Mehdi Taremi once again.

The Iranian joined Simone Inzaghi’s ranks after completing a free transfer from Porto last month.

The striker has been sharp in front of goal in the early going. He scored in each of the club’s three pre-season friendlies.

But sadly for the 32-year-old, Inter announced he has sustained a muscle strain yesterday.

While the statement didn’t offer any timetable for his recovery, most accounts expect him to be out of his action for a few weeks.

Therefore, Taremi’s availability for the Serie A opener remains shrouded in doubt, thus causing a big dilemma for Inzaghi.

The coach has been hoping to rely on the Italy international when they kickstart their title defense campaign against Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris on August 17.

After all, club captain Lautaro Martinez has yet to return from his summer vacation. The Argentine is unlikely to be in optimal physical condition in due time.

According to Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews, it remains unclear whether or not Taremi will recover in time for the clash against the Grifone.

Nevertheless, the source is certain that the former Porto striker will be available for the following contest against Lecce.

Mehdi Taremi Will Certainly Be Available For Inter Milan Vs Lecce Serie A Clash

The Nerazzurri will host the Giallorossi at San Siro on August 24th. This will be their first home fixture of the season.

So if Taremi fails to prove his fitness for the Genoa encounter, he will make his official Inter bow against Lecce.

Inter had already announced that the experienced striker will undergo further tests next week. Hence, the new evaluations should shed further light on his condition and possible return date.
