Former Italy striker Eder says that he is “still a fan” of Inter Milan despite his time at the club being long over.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, the 37-year-old briefly looked back on his time with Inter.

Eder joined Inter midway through the 2015-16 season. He joined from Sampdoria during the January transfer window of that campaign.

Over several seasons with the Blucerchiati, Eder had established himself as a consistent and versatile striker at the Serie A level.

The Brazilian-born Italian had also played for the likes of Empoli, Brescia and Cesena while finding his feet in the Italian top flight, and Frosinone in Serie B.

When Eder joined Inter, the Nerazzurri were still going through a difficult period.

Eder would end up spending two and a half seasons wearing the Inter shirt. He never won trophies for the club, but played under the likes of Stefano Pioli and Luciano Spalletti among other coaches.

Eder “Still A Fan” Of Inter Milan

Eder also earned call-ups for the Italian national team while he was an Inter players.

These included at the Euros in 2016.

Then-Italy coach Antonio Conte made then-Inter striker Eder a regular starter in the front pairing of his 3-5-2 system.

However, when Conte took over as Inter coach in 2019 Eder had already been gone for a season.

Eder looked back that “At Inter, perhaps I wanted to do more on the pitch.”

“But I wasn’t able to,” the 37-year-old continued.

“Still, I remain an Inter fan. [Nerazzurri Sporting Director] Piero Ausilio was in the video they made to wish me goodbye.”

As far as next season’s title race in Serie A, Eder anticipated that “Inter have something more than the rest of the teams, having had the same coach and so many of the key players staying.”

“But Napoli can cause anyone problems,” he predicted.

“Knowing the coach [Conte], it will be difficult for anyone to play against Napoli.”
