Multiple clubs in Serie B are keen on loaning in young Inter Milan midfielder Luca Di Maggio this summer.

This according to Italian news outlet FCinterNews. They report that the list of suitors for the 19-year-old is growing after his exploits at the Under-19 Euros with Italy.

Teenage midfielder Di Maggio appears to be the latest player off of the production line for Inter’s youth academy system.

In recent seasons, the Nerazzurri’s youth system has produced a number of promising box-to-box midfielders.

That has been the profile that has particularly looked apt from Inter’s youth setup.

In 2022, midfielder Cesare Casadei joined Chelsea for a significant transfer fee from Inter’s Primavera team.

This was despite the fact that Casadei had not yet made an appearance for Inter’s senior team.

Then, last summer, Giovanni Fabbiani joined Bologna. He did so on a permanent deal rather than a loan, although Inter retain a buyback option to sign Fabbiani back next summer.

Fabbian had enjoyed a standout season on loan with Reggiana in the 2022-23 campaign. This was what had earned him his loan move to Bologna.

And then Fabbian kicked on from that loan spell with Bologna. He helped the Rossoblu to a surprise Champions League qualification last season.

Multiple Serie B Clubs Keen On Loaning Luca Di Maggio

The latest player with a similar trajectory to Casadei and Fabbian is Di Maggio.

Like those previous two midfielders, Di Maggio has played a starring role with Inter’s Primavera team last season.

The 19-year-old has also caught the eye with standout performances with Italy at the Under-19 Euros this summer.

And that has been enough to see significant transfer interest emerge in Di Maggio.

According to FCIN, Inter’s plan for the teenager is closer to Fabbian’s when he joined Reggiana on loan rather than the sale of Casadei to Chelsea.

The Nerazzurri are intending to give Di Maggio his first senior experience in Serie B.

And according to FCIN there are a number of teams in the Italian second division who are hoping to loan in Di Maggio this summer.

All of Cesena, Mantova, Spezia, Reggiana, Ternana, and Pescara are admirers of the teenage midfielder, reports FCIN.

Therefore, Inter will listen to offers from all of those clubs over the next few weeks. They and Di Maggio will decide what the right next step is for the 19-year-old.
