Inter Milan could leave a move to sign out-of-favour Juventus forward Federico Chiesa until the final days of the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews.

Inter’s interest in Chiesa has been at the centre of some very high profile transfer rumours in recent days.

At the crux of the matter is Chiesa’s situation at Juventus.

The 26-year-old is not a part of the project at the Bianconeri. They have made it exceedingly clear that he does not figure into new coach Thiago Motta’s plans for next season.

At the same time, Chiesa’s contract with Juventus only runs until the end of next June.

Therefore, the Old Lady are completely determined to sell Chiesa this summer. They want to get a fee for the Italian international while they still have the chance.

Inter Could Leave Federico Chiesa Swoop Until Late In Transfer Window

Inter have been keeping an eye on Chiesa’s situation.

The Nerazzurri’s idea for some time has been to explore the possibility of signing Chiesa on a free transfer next summer.

Should the 26-year-old remain at Juventus until the end of his contract then he would certainly constitute a big name free transfer opportunity next summer.

However, with Juventus desperate to sell Chiesa, there are also other possibilities.

There has been a fair bit of interest in the Italian’s signature this summer.

Roma have considered a move, although they decided to sign winger Matias Soule from Juventus instead.

Then, there is Napoli. They have been weighing up a move for Chiesa this summer, as a big name signing for new coach Antonio Conte.

Lazio are also eyeing up the former Fiorentina forward.

And Inter are also considering the possibility of signing Chiesa this summer. Even if it requires a transfer fee.

But Inter are not going to move right away.

The Nerazzurri would have no intention of getting in a bidding war.

However, Inter are waiting to see if Chiesa remains at Juventus until the final days of the transfer window.

If that is to be the case, then the pressure would really be on the Bianconeri to sell the 26-year-old while they still have the chance.

And in that case, Inter could decide to make a low-ball offer. They could hope that Juventus have little choice but to accept a cut-price bid.
