Links between Inter Milan and Juventus making a shock swap deal for Italian internationals Federico Chiesa and Davide Frattesi have returned.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

The last few days have seen transfer links between Inter and out-of-favour Juventus forward Chiesa return.

One thing that looks abundantly clear is that Chiesa will leave the Bianconeri this summer. That is certainly what the Turin giants hope to see.

However, the situation is not exactly an advantageous one for Juventus.

Chiesa’s contract with the Old Lady currently runs out at the end of next June.

And despite the Italian international being on the market very conspicuously, no suitors have really emerged.

Inter are naturally eyeing up the possibility of signing Chiesa on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires.

Alternatively, there could be the idea of even signing the 26-year-old this summer. Juventus could accept a very low offer in order to get rid of him.

Inter Juventus Chiesa Frattesi Swap Links Return

But one idea that Juventus would be amenable would be a swap deal that allows them to make a signing as part of Chiesa’s departure.

As far as Inter players who could go the other way as part of a deal for Chiesa, there is one name in particular.

Midfielder Frattesi never quite managed to nail down a starting role at Inter last season.

The expectations were big following the 24-year-old’s move from Sassuolo. But he remained largely a substitute.

This season Frattesi will hope to carve out more playing time for himself.

But the fact remains that breaking into Inter’s starting midfield won’t be easy for Frattesi.

And the arrival of Piotr Zielinski only makes the competition for places tougher.

Therefore, Juventus could hope to snag Frattesi as part of a deal for Chiesa.

In that case, the Bianconeri would also have to pay Inter a fee to make up the difference in market value of the two Italian internationals.

Juventus would be hoping that that fee would be less than 10 million in total.

Such an outlay would be a lot less than the Bianconeri would have to pay for a midfielder like Frattesi in other circumstances. And it would mean offloading Chiesa.
