Inter Milan target Federico Chiesa is in no hurry to leave Juventus this summer, and could wait to depart on a free transfer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the 26-year-old wants to join a club in the Champions League.

Chiesa certainly looks to be a player on the way out at Juventus.

It is a matter of time before the Italian international leaves the Bianconeri, having joined the club in 2020.

Juventus coach Thiago Motta has made it clear that Chiesa is not part of the project.

Therefore, the Turin giants are seeking a solution to offload the former Fiorentina winger.

Juventus naturally want to cash in while they can. Chiesa’s contract runs out at the end of next June.

A number of clubs in Serie A are reportedly keen to sign Chiesa. These include Roma, Napoli, and Lazio.

The most high profile links in recent days, however, have concerned Inter.

The Nerazzurri are no strangers to big name free transfer signings. Therefore they are keen to potentially sign Chiesa via that route next summer.

But alternatively, Inter could even sign Chiesa this summer if they can do so for a cut-price fee in light of his situation at Juventus.

Inter Target Federico Chiesa Not In Any Hurry To Leave Juventus

According to the Gazzetta, Chiesa himself is not exactly pushing his way out of Juventus.

The 26-year-old does not want to make a move to a club that he views as a step down.

Therefore, Chiesa would want to join a club in the Champions League if he departs from Juventus this summer.

Inter would certainly be in that category. But other clubs may not be able to convince Chiesa on a move.

As such, Chiesa is waiting to see what opportunities open up this summer.

If a move to a club that he sees as suitable doesn’t materialize this summer he may simply decide to dig in his heels and stay at Juventus despite being decidedly out of the project.

In that case, Chiesa could be a big free transfer opportunity next summer.
