Lazio are ready to go head-to-head with Inter Milan to sign out-of-favour Juventus forward Federico Chiesa this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggerio, via FCInterNews. They do however report that the 26-year-old’s wages could be an issue for the Biancocelesti.

Chiesa’s future now looks to be clearly away from Juventus.

Whether it is this summer, or next summer when his contract with the Old Lady expires, Chiesa will join a new club.

The Bianconeri have made it explicitly clear that the Italian international is not part of their project under new coach Thiago Motta.

Therefore, Juventus are looking for a solution to offload Chiesa.

There have been links with Roma. However, the Giallorossi instead opted to sign Juventus winger Matias Soule.

Meanwhile, there have also been transfer links to Napoli under new coach Antonio Conte.

And in the last few days, the hottest links have been to Juventus’s Derby d’Italia rivals Inter.

The Nerazzurri are never shy about seizing free transfer opportunities. Therefore they are eyeing up a swoop next summer when Chiesa’s deal expires.

But even this summer, if the price drops low enough due to Chiesa’s contract situation, Inter could move.

Lazio Could Rival Inter Milan To Sign Juventus Outcast Federico Chiesa

And according to Il Messaggerio, there is yet another big Serie A club eyeing up a move for Chiesa.

Lazio coach Marco Baroni wants to sign another winger before the end of the transfer window.

Therefore, the club from the Italian capital have been scanning the market for targets.

And it would be hard to miss Chiesa as a potential opportunity.

Therefore, Il Messaggerio report, Lazio are considering a move for the former Fiorentina forward.

Chiesa fits the kind of profile that Baroni wants to give his team more speed and directness in attack.

A fee could be within reach for Lazio. However, the question of the player’s wages would be tougher.

Chiesa earns around 6 million net per season at Juventus.
