Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zielinski should be back from injury in around three weeks, and striker Marko Arnautovic will be on the sidelines for two weeks.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that a sense is emerging regarding the recovery timelines for the pair after Inter confirmed they had suffered muscle injuries.

Earlier today, Inter confirmed that both Zielinski and Arnautovic have picked up muscle problems.

This takes the total of preseason injuries in the Nerazzurri’s squad to three, following a muscle problem for striker Mehdi Taremi.

Both Zielinski and Arnautovic had been feeling discomfort in their left thighs following Inter’s friendly match against Pisa, which both started.

And today, the duo underwent tests with Inter’s medical staff.

These tests confirmed that Zielinski had suffered a strain in the rectus femoris muscle of his left thigh.

Arnautovic, meanwhile, suffered a slight pull to the vastus medialis muscle in his left thigh.

Inter Duo Zielinski & Arnautovic To Miss A Few Weeks With Thigh Injuries

Naturally, the big question for Zielinski and Arnautovic is when they will be able to return to action.

Inter are still a couple of weeks away from the start of their season.

The Nerazzurri kick off their Serie A campaign on Saturday, August 17th with an away match against Genoa.

Therefore, there is a little bit of time for Zielinski and Arnautovic to recover without having to rush back for fear of missing too many matches.

However, there is certainly major doubt about whether either of the duo will be available for the trip to Liguria on opening weekend.

In the case of Zielinski, it would be virtually certain that he will miss the opener.

Sky report that the Polish international should be on the sidelines for about three weeks recovering from his muscle strain.

Therefore, a more realistic match for Zielinski to return in would be Inter’s second match. They face Lecce the following weekend – and then take on Atalanta.

Arnautovic, on the other hand, will be out for a couple weeks, reports Sky.

The Austrian’s problem is not serious. It is just a slight strain.

Still, there is doubt as to whether or not Arnautovic will be able to recover in time for the opener.
