Valencia defender Yarek Gasiorowski is the top target for the Inter Milan back three in the view of Sporting Director Piero Ausilio.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are considering their options as far as signing a player for the back three.

This is because Carlos Augusto will have to play primarily or exclusively as a wingback next season considering the injury to Tajon Buchanan, and therefore cannot fill in in defense.

Inter had looked to be on the verge of completing a deal for defender Juan Cabal. However, Juventus hijacked that deal, signing the Colombian.

The likes of Zenit St. Petersburg’s Robert Renan and Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior are reportedly among the Nerazzurri’s targets.

Links have also emerged to Dinamo Zagreb defender Mauro Perkovic.

But there is one name at the top of the list in the mind of Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin.

Valencia Defender Yarek Gasiorowski Top Target For Inter Sporting Director Ausilio

Naturally there are a few considerations for Inter to make in their search for a defender.

Reportedly, Nerazzurri owners Oaktree have emphasized bringing in a younger player. They want a signing with room to grow and potential resale value rather than a stopgap solution.

Then there is of course Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s view. And that of President and CEO Beppe Marotta.

But Sporting Director Ausilio will also have his say.

It is Ausilio who often provides the vision behind Inter’s sporting project, and identifies the players who will be the best fit for the club’s plans.

And according to Tuttosport, there is one defender in particular who has impressed Ausilio.

19-year-old Valencia defender Gasiorowski is still very much new to senior football. He only broke into the Los Che first team last season.

But Ausilio has been a big fan of what he’s seen. And according to Tuttosport, for the Sporting Director Gasiorowski would be right at the top of Inter’s shortlist.

Reportedly, Gasiorowski will not force a move away from Valencia. However, the Nerazzurri have already made their interest in the teenage defender known through his agent.

Moreover, there is reportedly a release clause in the Spanish Under-19 international’s contract.

The fee to trigger that clause would be around 15 million.
