With the summer transfer window reaching the tipping point, Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi aims to bolster his options in the front third.

According to a report in today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, injuries to Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic have created an emergency at Giuseppe Meazza.

Therefore, Inter are short of numbers in attack.

Subsequently, Lautaro Martinez is the only reliable fit centre-forward, alongside Marcus Thuram. The captain joined the Nerazzurri pre-season camp today.

The dynamic duo inspired Inzaghi’s side to a long-awaited 20th Scudetto in 2023/24. They forged a formidable attacking partnership.

However, Inter cannot rely on their standout performers alone to carry the goalscoring burden in 2024/25.

Taremi’s arrival was supposed to ease the pressure on Inzaghi’s talismanic strikers. But the Iranian has succumbed to a muscle injury.

He’ll likely watch the opening Serie A fixture against Genoa from the stands.

The same goes for Arnautovic. The veteran remains on the sidelines following an exhausting EURO 2024 campaign with Austria.

Inter Milan Desperately Need New Forward After Injuries to Taremi & Arnautovic

Inter are on the hunt for a new forward to fill the void.

But they’re looking for a player of different characteristics to complete Inzaghi’s attacking unit.

Ideally, they’d sign someone resembling Joaquin Correa’s attributes. But first Inter must sell Joaquin Correa.

Despite Correa’s early resistance to leave, he’ll likely conclude his Inter journey soon.

River Plate and several Saudi Pro League are lurking in the shadows.

Inzaghi’s charges have earmarked Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson as Correa’s heir. Yet, they’ve already bled much time off the clock.

Now’s the time to take action.

There’s less than a fortnight before the opening Serie A clash against Alberto Gilardino’s men.

Inzaghi doesn’t have a dependable alternative on the bench.

As such, Inter must overcome the current market impasse.
