Inter Milan have announced the sale of French midfielder Lucien Agoume to Sevilla following a short-term loan last season.

According to Inter’s website, the 22-year-old has joined the perennial La Liga strugglers without disclosing the terms.

During his first interview as the new Sevilla player, as reported by FCInterNews, Agoume discussed his reunion with the Andalusian club.

The France U21 international admitted he’s happy to return to the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

“I’m very happy to return to a place where I was very happy last year,” Agoume said. “It was a very simple decision, I’m very happy to be back here.”

Lucien Agoume featured for Sevilla in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.

Unable to secure regular first-team opportunities at Inter, he moved to La Liga to gain experience and more minutes.

The move was a resounding success as he amassed 777 minutes of top-flight action across 12 appearances.

It led Sevilla to pursue his permanent transfer, with Inter unwilling to block the deal.

Agoume swapped French minnows Sochaux for the Nerazzurri in 2019. However, he has never had a real chance to prove himself at Giuseppe Meazza.

He now hopes to turn his fortunes around in the Iberian Peninsula.

Lucien Agoume Cannot Wait To Kick Off His Sevilla Career After Leaving Inter Milan

Immediately after penning a four-year contract at Sevilla, Agoume discussed his expectations in familiar surroundings

“A lot of desire and enthusiasm. Last year I met very good people here, a very big club. I just wanted to come back here to continue to be part of this club,” the youngster continued.

“With my teammates, the management… I’m very happy to be here.”

It’s a fresh start for the young gun, whose career at Inter failed to meet the promised heights.

He’ll try to help Sevilla improve on last season’s underwhelming 14th-place finish.
