Serie A giants Juventus are seemingly determined to prevent wantaway star Federico Chiesa from joining Inter Milan on a free transfer next summer.

According to La Repubblica, as reported by FCInterNews, the Turin heavyweights have dramatically reduced their asking price for the Italy international to €15-20 million.

Placed on the chopping block by new manager Thiago Motta, Chiesa prepares to drop the curtain on his career at the Allianz Stadium.

His contract runs out in less than 12 months. However, Juventus had pinned a substantial €25-30m price tag on his shoulders at the start of the summer.

Juve’s demands have scared off Chiesa’s suitors, opening the door for Inter to land the ex-Fiorentina winger on a free transfer.

But Motta’s men have recognised Beppe Marotta’s modus operandi.

Aware of the Inter president’s habits of signing top players without spending a dime, they’re keen to sell Federico Chiesa on short notice.

With the clock ticking away, Juventus are willing to offer interested clubs a hefty discount.

The only reason behind this intention is to prevent Inter from landing Chiesa for free next summer.

Juventus hope their adjusted asking price will generate more interest from other clubs.

It’s no secret that Inter want to bring the 26-year-old to Giuseppe Meazza when his contract expires next summer.

Other Serie A clubs, such as Napoli and Roma, are gunning for an immediate transfer.

But neither was willing to come anywhere near Juventus’ initial request.

With the new price tag kicking in, there’s a good chance other clubs would enter the picture.

That doesn’t rule out Chiesa’s move to Inter, though.

Marotta is working around the clock to offload fringe stars.

Fresh funds would hand the Nerazzurri the budget to negotiate Chiesa’s arrival this summer.
