Italian journalist Luca Marchetti insists there’s no need for Inter Milan to sign new players despite injuries to Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic.

Despite Inter’s effort to add to Simone Inzaghi’s options, Marchetti claims there’s no need for reinforcements in an interview with TMW Radio, as reported by FCInterNews.

“These are things of 2-3 weeks, I don’t think the club is worried, on the contrary,” Marchetti said.

“Today, technically, Inter also have an extra striker compared to last season because there is Correa, who has not yet found a solution.

“In midfield, they have reserves who are starters. I don’t think there is a need to do anything except futuristic operations, especially in defense,” Marchetti concluded

In contrast to Marchetti’s assessment, Simone Inzaghi is desperate for reinforcements.

With the transfer window reaching its climax, Inter are in the market for a new left-footed defender and backup forward.

Injuries suffered by Taremi and Arnautovic have forced the club’s hand.

Inter will likely take on Genoa in the opening Serie A game without both center-forwards.

But Beppe Marotta has enough time to fill the void since there’s a fortnight before the Nerazzurri’s trip to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Luca Marchetti Adamant Inter Milan Not Worried About Lack of Signings

Marchetti’s words are not far from the truth.

Inter appear well-covered in every department. However, a lack of squad depth could return to haunt Inzaghi’s team later in the season.

Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram have proved capable of handling the pressure.

But it won’t hurt to have a reliable fallback option.

Taremi will be the one when he recovers. He was phenomenal in the early pre-season before picking up a muscle strain.

As for Arnautovic, he’ll likely be a marginal figure next season. Inter are keen to offload him this summer.

Unfortunately, the Austrian has shown no ambition to leave.
