Roma have reportedly re-established contact with Juventus to gather information about Inter Milan target Federico Chiesa.

According to La Repubblica, as reported by FCInterNews, Chiesa is keen to play in the Champions League next season.

The Italy international’s future is at a crossroads. New Juventus manager Thiago Motta has written Federico Chiesa off. As such, he’s on the verge of halting his four-year stint in Turin.

However, Chiesa has an abundance of options on the table. In addition to Inter and Roma, Barcelona and Manchester United are also in the mix.

Chiesa has already turned down approaches from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Subsequently, Chiesa is eager to feature in the Champions League next season. Therefore, that puts Inter in the prime position to land the ex-Fiorentina winger.

That’s despite Roma’s last-ditch attempt to offer him an escape route from Turin.

The Giallorossi would offer between €15-18 million to sign Chiesa. They’d even include Stephan El Shaarawy to sweeten the deal.

Yet, the player’s desire will likely render their effort meaningless.

Inter have emerged as Chiesa’s likeliest landing spot.

Simone Inzaghi’s men bring Europe’s elite club competition to the table. And that’s an incentive no other Italian suitor can match.

Roma and Napoli are the remaining Serie A clubs vying for the Juventus outcast’s signature

Antonio Conte’s side would propose a swap deal involving Giacomo Raspadori. But they’d need to wait for Inter’s decision.

Beppe Marotta appreciates the player. That doesn’t mean he’s ready to break the bank to lure him to Giuseppe Meazza.

Time is playing into Inter’s hands. Therefore, the Nerazzurri only need to be patient and wait for the right moment to pounce.

Juventus can’t really afford to lose Chiesa for free in less than 12 months.

Especially, as Chiesa is a prized asset for the Bianconeri.
