Fiorentina have increased their offer to Genoa to sign Inter Milan target Albert Gudmundsson.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that La Viola are now offering a deal worth 23 million in total for the Icelander.

Gudmundsson has been marked out as one of Inter’s major targets for the summer transfer window.

The Nerazzurri have been targeting the Icelandic international for months now. Meanwhile, the player himself is reportedly keen on the move.

However, signing Gudmundsson will not be easy for Inter. The reason is simple – Gudmundsson is not going to come cheap.

The 26-year-old scored fourteen goals and assisted a further seven last season.

Therefore, there is plenty of transfer interest in Gudmundsson. And Genoa will certainly look to exploit that by cashing in for a big fee if they are to sell Gudmundsson this summer.

Fiorentina Increase Offer To Sign Inter Target Albert Gudmundsson

Among the other clubs to have shown an interest in signing Gudmundsson has been Fiorentina.

La Viola had already shown an interest in  the former AZ Alkmaar forward’s signature in January.

However, at the time, Genoa had no intention of losing Gudmundsson in midseason. Therefore, they were not ready to listen to offers for the Icelander.

However, the summer transfer window could be a different story.

In the last week, Fiorentina have been moving fast to try and sign Gudmundsson.

The Tuscans have been trying to make a deal with Genoa on the basis of an initial loan containing a purchase obligation.

Fiorentina had made an offer for a loan with a fee of 5 million and then a 18 million conditional purchase obligation. Genoa rejected this.

However, La Viola have increased the loan fee in their offer to 7 million.

Fiorentina are hoping that the Grifone are just about ready to accept a bit at that loan fee.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, Fiorentina have a contract worth €2.2 million net per season for Gudmundsson.
