Simone Inzaghi feels that Inter Milan “know where they need to improve” after falling to defeat against Al-Ittihad in preseason.

Inter have lost their first match of the preseason period.

The Nerazzurri had previously beaten the likes of Lugano, Pergolettese, and Las Palmas. And then they drew against Pisa.

But this evening, Inter fell to a defeat to Saudi Pro League team Al-Ittihad.

Ultimately, the result of a preseason friendly match like this evening matters little. These fixtures are all about giving the players the chance to build fitness and find their rhythm on the pitch.

The start of the Serie A season is now a little more that a week away. Inter take on Genoa in their fist match of the campaign on Saturday, August 17th.

Inzaghi: Inter “Know Where We Need To Improve” After Al-Ittihad Loss

The loss to Al-Ittihad may not have mattered too much to Inter.

But the fact that there were still problems with the performances that led to the result was still reason for some worry.

Inter know that the start of competitive action is not far away now. And against Al-Ittihad, they were clearly not at the level they will need to be when they face Genoa.

Inter’s final match of the preseason period comes against Chelsea.

Inter coach Inzaghi reacted to the match. “We started well,” he said. “We created a lot.”

“After their goal we certainly could have done better. But the spaces between the lines started to appear, we lost some clarity and particularly didn’t raise the pace.”

“We know that we need to improve,” Inzaghi said. “And we know where we have to do so.”

“All the friendlies are stages leading to the match in Genoa on August 17th,” Inzaghi said.
