Legendary Chile star Alexis Sanchez saluted Inter Milan as he prepares to make his long-anticipated return to Udinese.

The 35-year-old has a three-year stint with the Nerazzurri between 2019 and 2022. He then joined Olympique Marseille on a free transfer before re-signing with Inter a year later.

The striker’s short second spell with the Beneamata yielded another Scudetto title in addition to an Italian Super Cup.

But when the veteran’s contract expired at the end of last season, the two parties opted to part ways once again.

Sanchez is now reportedly on the cusp of making his return to Udinese 13 years following his departure.

But before joining the Zebrette, the experienced star bid the Nerazzurri farewell in an emotional message posted on his personal Instagram account.

“First of all I want to say thank you to all my Inter teammates, the coach and the club directors,” wrote the Chile international.

“We spent a great season together and managed to bring home the second star.

Sanchez made waves as a youngster at Udinese before earning a big-profile switch to Barcelona in 2011.

He then reached the pinnacle of his playing career at Arsenal, but then had a forgettable 18-month spell at Manchester United.

The Chilean’s career has now turned full circle with his imminent return to Udine. But it remains to be seen how much he still has in the tank
