Legendary former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi is hoping to see even further improvements from Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi.

Sacchi praised the Nerazzurri coach in an interview with Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews.

Former Milan coach Sacchi has been a frequent critic of Inzaghi over the last few years.

The ex-Rossoneri and Italy boss has not exactly hesitated to give Inzaghi credit for his successes.

But Sacchi has frequently argued that the Inter coach emphasizes individual skill from his players too much, rather than a coordinated team approach.

The former Milan coach has been a very outspoken pundit. He typically favours proactive, high-pressing and possession-based football.

And Sacchi has also been critical of what he has seen as too much of a focus on reacting to opposition errors rather than dictating the tactics and tempo of matches.

Arrigo Sacchi: “Hope To See Even More Growth From Simone Inzaghi”

In recent months, Sacchi has admitted that Inzaghi has won him over.

Last season, Inter won the Serie A title in dominant fashion.

And in the view of former Milan coach Sacchi, this was the result of Inzaghi making a big leap in terms of his style of play.

Now, Sacchi is hoping that there is an even greater leap that the Nerazzurri coach can make.

The former Rossoneri coach said that “Simone Inzaghi is a good coach.”

“He’s growing,” Sacchi said of Inzaghi. “And I hope that he’s able to grow even further.”

“Last season Inter deservedly won the title,” he noted. “Now, Inzaghi has to make sure that the players he has at his disposal don’t start to think that the work is over.”

“If he’s able to do that, then they absolutely start next season as the favourites to win the title,” Sacchi said of the Nerazzurri next season.
