Inter Milan Ready To Negotiate To Sign Teenage Nantes Defender In Remaining Weeks Of Transfer Window

Inter Milan are ready to negotiate with Nantes over the next three weeks to try and sign teenage defender Nathan Zeze.

This according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908. They report that the Ligue 1 club are holding out for €30 million but that Inter are hopeful that they can chip away at that fee.

Inter are still hoping to sign a defender before the end of the summer transfer window.

The priority looks to be to sign a player who can cover on the left side of the defense.

This would be to allow Carlos Augusto to play exclusively or primarily at wingback whilst Tajon Buchanan is on the sidelines for the first few months of this coming season.

Inter had reportedly been on the verge of a deal for defender Juan Cabal before he instead joined Juventus.

That would have represented a move for a younger profile.

Meanwhile the likes of Zenit St. Petersburg’s Robert Renan, Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, and Genoa’s Johan Vazquez are also on the Nerazzurri’s radar.

Meanwhile, more recent links have emerged to Dinamo Zagreb defender Mauro Perkovic and Valencia teenager Yarek Gasiorowski.

Inter To Negotiate With Nantes For Nathan Zeze In Next Few Weeks

One thing that looks fairly clear is that Inter want to sign a young defender.

Oaktree want to focus their project on younger players with room to grow and resale value.

That means that the Inter owners do not want to just bring in a stopgap solution.

Oaktree would be willing to invest in a younger player.

And reports since last months have suggested that 19-year-old Nantes defender Zeze is one of Inter’s major targets in that respect.
