The agent of out-of-favour Juventus forward Federico Chiesa has met with Inter Milan and AC Milan about the possibility of a transfer.

This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that both the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri were lukewarm on the prospect of signing Chiesa, with the former citing tactical reasons.

By now, it is certainly no secret that Chiesa is likely to leave Juventus this summer.

The Bianconeri have made it very clear to the 26-year-old that they want him out. Chiesa is out of the plans under new coach Thiago Motta.

Therefore, Juventus have seemingly given Chiesa an ultimatum. Either he can find a new club this summer. Or else he will spend much of next season on the bench.

The fact that Chiesa’s contract with the Turin giants runs out at the end of next June adds further urgency to the situation.

Juventus know perfectly well that the last three weeks of this summer transfer window would represent their last major opportunity to cash in on the Italian international.

Agent Of Federico Chiesa Meets With Inter & AC Milan

Given the situation, Chiesa’s agent Fali Ramadani has been on the hunt for a new club for his client.

According to FCIN, Ramadani recently met with directors from both Inter and Milan.

It is not hard to surmise that the purpose of this meeting was to sound out interest from either club in signing Chiesa.

A move to either the Nerazzurri or the Rossoneri would represent a chance for Chiesa to continue playing Champions League football. And he would be staying within Serie A.

But according to FCIN, both Inter and Milan gave Ramadani a lukewarm response.

In the case of the Nerazzurri, it is not as though they are not keeping an eye on Chiesa’s situation.

However, there are a couple of reasons why Inter are unlikely to sign Chiesa this summer.

Firstly, Inter would be more inclined to pursue a deal for Chiesa on a free transfer next summer. That would be when his contract with Juventus expires.

Then, there is the matter of the former Fiorentina winger’s tactical fit.

There are significant doubts about how the Italian international would function in Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system.

Chiesa is not particularly adept at playing as an out-and-out forward. He has a tendency to drift into wide positions.

But on the other hand, Chiesa does not really have the legs to play in a wingback role.

It was for this reason that the 26-year-old found that his playing time dwindled last season at Juventus under Max Allegri. This opened the door for teenager Kenan Yildiz to become a regular starter.

And while Inter coach Inzaghi does not use exactly the same formation as Allegri, it is hard to imagine that similar issues wouldn’t emerge.
