Dynamo Kyiv striker Vladyslav Vanat is the top candidate to become Inter Milan’s last signing in attack this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Giornale, via FCInterNews. They report that the Ukrainian international’s age and price tag make him an ideal candidate.

Inter are still thinking about making one more attacking signing this summer.

At the moment, there are four forward players in Inter’s squad. Mehdi Taremi joins the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, and Marko Arnautovic from last season.

Taremi effectively takes the place of Alexis Sanchez.

Meanwhile, Joaquin Correa is still on Inter’s books as well. However, the Nerazzurri are widely expected to offload the Argentine whatever it takes.

On paper, Inter do not necessarily need to make another attacking signing.

Four is the number of strikers that the Nerazzurri had in their squad last season.

However, there are questions about whether the current options offer sufficient depth for the upcoming season.

Dynamo Kyiv Striker Vladyslav Vanat The Top Candidate For Inter In Attack

Last campaign, Inter did occasionally look stretched thin in attack.

That was particularly the case when any of the four attackers were out with injury. Spells on the sidelines for Thuram and Arnautovic provide especially problematic.

And already at the moment, both Taremi and Arnautovic are dealing with muscle problems. That underlines the potential problem of just having four strikers.

Therefore, Il Giornale confirm, Inter are thinking of signing one more forward.

The newspaper anticipate that Nerazzurri owners Oaktree Capital will insist on targeting a younger player.

The owners don’t want to bring in a stopgap solution. Their idea is to build their project around younger players with potential for growth and resale value.

In this respect, 22-year-old Dynamo striker Vanat could present an ideal solution.

The Ukrainian would certainly have plenty of room to improve. He would also have potential resale value.

And Dynamo are not likely to hold out for two high a fee as would be the case with many promising young forwards.

Therefore, Il Giornale surmise, Vanat is the top candidate to bolster Inter’s attack before the transfer window closes.
