Sassuolo are moving to bring in out-of-favour Inter Milan goalkeeper Andrei Radu as part of their bid for promotion back to Serie B.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

One thing that is clear is that Romanian international Radu is not a player with any place in Inter’s project next season.

The 26-year-old spent last campaign on loan with Bournemouth.

However, Radu was not able to nail down a starting place for himself at the Vitality Stadium. In truth, the Inter keeper barely featured for the Premier League club.

Therefore, it is little surprise that Bournemouth did not exercise a purchase option at the end of Radu’s loan. The Cherries sent him back to Inter this summer.

Prior to last season, Radu had also been out on loans with the likes of Genoa, Cremonese, and Auxerre.

Radu’s contract with Inter runs until the end of next June.

Therefore, there would hardly be any prospect for the Nerazzurri to send the Romanian out on another loan.

Inter will have to sell Radu once and for all this summer.

As far as a new permanent destination for the 26-year-old, a few possibilities have emerged.

One would be Serie B side Sampdoria. The Ligurian club, who are the derby rivals of Radu’s former team Genoa, have reportedly shown an interest.

Nantes have also shown an interest in bringing Radu back to Ligue 1.

However, it will actually be a move to Serie B after all for the Romanian – but not to Sampdoria.

Sassuolo are preparing for life in the second division after suffering relegation from Serie A last season.

The Neroverdi’s aim for the coming campaign is clear. They want to win promotion straight back to the top flight.

To this end, Sassuolo are making a few signings.

The Emilians are aiming to sign Matti Valoti and Milan Djuric from Monza.

And in goal, Sassuolo are moving to complete a deal to sign Radu from Inter.
