Defender Alessandro Bastoni feels that Inter Milan is his “home” and has every intention of staying for a long time.

The Italian international gave his thoughts to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He also addressed what he thinks the Nerazzurri must do to win the Champions League.

By now, Bastoni is firmly established as a key player for Inter.

The 25-year-old is going into his sixth season as a Nerazzurri player.

Bastoni may have been a teenager when he arrived at Inter. But over the course of his time at the club he has grown into a bedrock of the Nerazzurri’s defensive system.

Meanwhile, Bastoni was one of the outstanding defenders in the group stage of EURO 2024, although he couldn’t prevent Italy from suffering a disappointing round of sixteen elimination.

Bastoni’s form over the years has led to no shortage of transfer interest in him.

PSG and Juventus have eyed the Italian international up, as have Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

And from the Premier League, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are among the teams to have come forward.

But Bastoni has always reiterated his commitment to Inter.

The Italian is currently under contract with the Nerazzurri until the end of June 2028.

Alessandro Bastoni: “Inter Milan My Home, I’m Staying”

Of the transfer interest that he has attracted over the years, Bastoni admitted that “It’s always nice to be appreciated in the world of football.”

“But when you’re somewhere you’re happy, where everyone loves and appreciates you, you never have to leave,” the 25-year-old continued.

“That’s exactly how I feel here,” Bastoni said of Inter.

“I feel important in this big family. I’m not afraid to say that it’s my home.”

Meanwhile, Bastoni also remarked that “The one big flaw last season for us was the Champions League.”

“Maybe we got too casual after winning the first leg.”

“We’ll have to face every match with the right spirit,” Bastoni said of this season’s Champions League.

“We’ve brought in top players in terms of [European experience],” the Italian international noted. “So we’re confident about this season.”
