Midfielder Piotr Zielinski is rapidly getting back to fitness as Inter Milan prepare for the new Serie A season a few days away.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Polish international was able to train on the pitch today.

Zielinski joined Inter this summer.

The 30-year-old made the switch from Napoli on a summer transfer.

Zielinski has been in training for much of the Nerazzurri’s preseason camp. He made appearances in several friendly matches.

However, Zielinski’s preparations for next season faced a bit of a setback in the form of an injury.

It is not too bad of a problem for the Pole. He picked up a thigh strain, medical tests confirmed.

But this injury will delay Zielinski’s start to his first season as an Inter player by a bit.

Piotr Zielinski Rapidly Approaching Fitness For Inter Milan

Zielinski has been working on his recovery for a couple of weeks now.

And Sky report that today, the Pole got back out on the pitch.

Zielinski was not able to complete a full session with the rest of the Inter squad.

However, the 30-year-old has essentially recovered from his thigh injury. Now he is just working on building fitness so that he can return to full training with his teammates.

Inter’s league campaign begins this weekend. They face Genoa on Saturday.

And there would be no chance of Zielinski being ready to be in the squad for that match.

However, the former Napoli midfielder should be ready for his first competitive Inter call-up in the following weekend’s match against Lecce.

Meanwhile, Sky report, all of Mehdi Taremi, Marko Arnautovic, Hakan Calhanoglu, Lautaro Martinez, and Alessandro Bastoni were part of today’s full session.

That means that despite some fitness and injury concerns, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have nearly a full squad against Genoa on Saturday.
