Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan says that Inter Milan are “still not satisfied” despite their recent run of success.

The 35-year-old spoke to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, ahead of the new season.

Not everything has gone perfectly for Inter over the past couple of seasons.

However, the trend has certainly been an upward one.

The Nerazzurri won last season’s Serie A title, and did so in dominant fashion. That followed a run to the Champions League final in the 2022-23 season.

Meanwhile, Inter have also won five pieces of domestic silverware besides the league title since Simone Inzaghi took over as coach.

Clearly, there is a lot for Inter to be happy about.

But that certainly does not mean that there is not even more that this team can do.

There are still objectives to fight for that could take the Nerazzurri a step further.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: “Inter Milan Still Not Satisfied”

Mkhitaryan commented that “We know that this season will be tougher.”

“Because we’re starting from square one, and not from the points between us and second in the table last season.”

“But we’re ready,” the Armenian assured. “We’re Inter and we won’t slip up.”

“We’re still not satisfied,” Mkhitaryan said.

Of the team’s preparations, Mkhitaryan said that “We’re working well in training.”

“Despite the fact that players have returned to training at different times.”

“But you can see that everyone is giving their all to get fit and start the season at their best,” the 35-year-old made clear. “No one wants to be left behind.”

And as far as the club’s ambitions for next season, Mkhitaryan declared that “Nothing changes.”

“We’re Inter,” the former Manchester United and Arsenal midfielder said. “Our goal is to lift trophies.”

“And now, as with one year ago, everyone knows that we’ll fight for the Scudetto again.”

“In general we want to do even better than last season,” Mkhitaryan said. “So in the Champions League, we want to go further.”

“And then there’s the Club World Cup. Right now, that seems far away, we’ll have time to think about it – but it fascinates us.”

Mkhitaryan also noted that “Three new players have arrived.”

“Taremi, Zielinski, and Martinez will all give us a big hand during the season,” the Armenian predicted.

“They’re very good players. And that’s precisely our strength – in a team where everyone has the opportunity to play, there’s a greater chance of winning matches.
