Midfielder Piotr Zielinski has a “10% chance” of being fit for Inter Milan’s Serie A opener away to Genoa on Saturday.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They also report that midfielder Kristjan Asllani had a slight fitness scare in training today.

Inter are getting ready for the start of their Serie A season.

Today’s training session was one of the last handful before the Nerazzurri begin their Serie A title defense with a trip to Liguria to face Genoa.

Last time Inter faced Genoa at the Marassi, they were only able to take a point back to Milan.

Therefore, there is no doubt about the difficulty of this weekend’s match.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is starting to firm up his starting eleven for the match against the Grifone. And he is also carefully watching the players’ fitness.

Piotr Zielinski With “10% Chance” Of Being Fit For Genoa Vs Inter Clash

There has been plenty of good news for Inzaghi in view of Saturday’s match.

Strikers Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic have both recovered from muscle injuries. They will be part of the squad to face Genoa.

And key starters like Alessandro Bastoni and Hakan Calhanoglu have put the minor muscle problems that saw them miss last weekend’s friendly against Chelsea behind them.

However, Zielinski’s situation is a little more ambiguous.

The Poland international is just coming back from a thigh strain.

That injury has made it look very doubtful that Zielinski would be able to be part of the squad for Saturday’s match.

However, the 30-year-old is recovering very quickly.

Zielinski is working on the pitch in training. His condition looks to be very good already.

Therefore, Sky reports, there is a “10% chance” that Zielinski could even get a call-up for Saturday’s trip to Genoa.

The same is not true of defender Stefan de Vrij, however. The Dutchman is still recovering from a thigh strain of his own.

Meanwhile, Sky report, there was a bit of muscular discomfort for midfielder Kristjan Asllani in today’s training session.

The Albanian had a reduced workload in training due to the issue. However, Sky reports, his fitness for Saturday’s match is not in any doubt.
