Inter Milan veteran Henrikh Mkhitaryan is hoping he can end his career at the club, while discussing his new teammate Piotr Zielinski.

The Armenian weighed in on several matters in a new interview, beginning from last season’s historic Scudetto triumph.

“I had great emotions because it was my first league title in Europe,” he told DAZN (via FcInterNews).

“It was also the 20th Serie title for Inter and the second star. It was a great achievement. I am happy and proud to be part of this project and this family.”

“Last term, we had a lot of success. This season, we will not stop. We want to win more trophies to make our fans and ourselves happy.”

The 35-year-old admitted his desire to end his career at Inter, but he realizes that it depends on the club’s decision.

“It would be great to retire at Inter. However, it doesn’t depend on me but on the club and how they see things in the future.

“I will do my best to stay in football and at Inter for a long time. We will move forward step by step, then we will see. In the end, I will choose whether to continue or stop.”

Henrikh Mkhitaryan Insists New Inter Milan Signing Piotr Zielinski Has Different Attributes

Mkhitaryan welcomes the addition of Zielinski who could be his direct rival for a starting place. However, he feels that the two of them have slightly different traits.

“We are very happy to have Zielinski as a teammate instead of an opponent. He is very strong and will give us a big hand like Frattesi did last season, who often made the difference both coming off the bench and playing as a starter.

“Everyone will have their turns, there will be many games.

“In my opinion, Piotr is more technical than me. I cannot say that we are similar because he is a very good player. But It’s better to have players with different characteristics in the squad.

The former Man United and Arsenal midfielder also heaped praise on Mehdi Taremi.

“Taremi impressed me from day one. I played against him in the Champions League when he was at Porto.

“He is very strong, I also followed him with Iran. He will give us a big hand, even if he will need time to adapt, but I am confident that he will be a great force for us.

“He is someone who fights until the end and does not give up, he does not stop and always tries to score.”

Finally, Mkhitaryan is gunning for a win in the Serie A opener against Genoa this Saturday.

“This year, we start the campaign in Genoa, and it will be very difficult.

“Last season, we didn’t win there but we remain confident. We want to be ready to start the campaign in the best possible way.”
