Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi will turn to his tried-and-trusted stars from last season in the Serie A opener against Genoa.

The Italian champions will begin their domestic campaign in an away contest at the Luigi Ferraris on Saturday evening.

The Nerazzurri have thus far signed three first-team players this summer.

However, Mahdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski suffered muscular issues during pre-season. The Iranian should be fit enough for the bench on Saturday, while the Pole will remain in Milano.

As for Josep Martinez, he left a good impression in the early friendly tests, but Yann Sommer remains the first option between the sticks.

So according to FcInterNews, Inzaghi will field eleven old players in his starting lineup,

Yann Bisseck is reportedly the favorite to start on the right of the defensive trio, leaving Benjamin Pavard on the bench.

The German had an impressive pre-season, while the Frenchman returned late from his summer vacation.

Alessandro Bastoni has overcome a physical issue and should be fit enough to start alongside Francesco Acerbi.

On the flanks, Federico Dimarco remains the first option for the left wing. On the opposite side, Matteo Darmian and Denzel Dumfries will revive their duel. The Italian veteran could be the favorite this time.

In the middle of the park, Inzaghi can rely on the golden trio of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Despite his return to fitness, Kristjan Asllani will have to settle for a place in the dugout.

Finally, club captain Lautaro Martinez will return to lead the line alongside Marcus Thuram.

Since he remains short of match fitness, the Argentine will probably leave his place on the pitch to Taremi in the final 30 minutes.
