Clubs from the Bundesliga are offering more than €10 million for Tallers defender Tomas Palacios, but he wants to join Inter Milan.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews.

In the last few days, 21-year-old Argentine defender Palacios has emerged as a major target for Inter in defense.

Reports indicate that the Nerazzurri are ready to try and get a deal done to sign Palacios in the next week or so.

The Argentine is the player who is now at the centre of Inter’s search for a young defender.

The Nerazzurri are aiming to sign a left-sided defender who can back up Alessandro Bastoni on the back of the back three.

This would allow Carlos Augusto to play exclusively at left-wingback while Tajon Buchanan is out for the first few months of the season.

Inter owners Oaktree Capital have made clear that they want to invest in a young player.

The Nerazzurri owners want to bring in a player with room for growth and potential resale value rather than just signing a stopgap solution.

Bundesliga Clubs Offering 10M+ For Tomas Palacios – But He Wants Inter

Inter are reportedly ready to offer a fee of around 6 million.

It would not be quite as simple as just agreeing a fee, however. That is because of Palacios’s ownership situation.

At the moment, the 21-year-old is on loan at Independiente Rivadivia.

Rivadivia have a purchase option on 50% of Palacios’s contract when his loan expires at the end of December.

Therefore, Inter must work out a structure of a deal with both Talleres and Rivadivia if they are to complete a deal for Palacios.

Then, there is also the matter of competition for the Argentine’s signature.

According to SportItalia, there are clubs in the Bundesliga ready to make offers for Palacios.

The broadcaster report that some of these offers would be in excess of €10 million.

It remains to be seen if Inter would be ready to go that high in their bid for the 21-year-old.

However, SportItalia report, Palacios himself wants the move to Inter. That could certainly prove to be a key advantage for the Nerazzurri in the race for the defender’s signature.
